Philips 234E5, A Surprising 23 Inches!
Looking for an external monitor for my MacBook Pro 13 that most closely respects the colorimetry with the constraint of a tight budget, my choice quickly stopped to a slab with the IPS technology “in-plane switching” used by Apple to obtain the widest possible viewing angle (h: 178 ° / v: 178 °).
As part of my job, my eyes are used to watching high-resolution screens. A qualitative requirement that I heard on this external monitor without big pixels with excellent colorimetry, reduced power consumption, a LED backlight and of course an excellent price / quality ratio.
The question of the resolution has arisen several times especially when one has become accustomed to working on the screen of an iMac 27. The market study on different screens 27 inches with a resolution of 2560×1440 highlights their chertés. As for the 24-inch monitors they offer 1920×1080 Full HD picture definition, but with more pixels per cm2 compared to 27-inch monitors.
My choice stuck on the PHILIPS 234E5 23-inch monitor that has proprietary technology: TrueVision. True Vision uses advanced algorithms for perfect visual performance, with requirements four times more stringent than the Windows sRGB standard. Philips assures that each of the monitors leaving his factories is regulated by this process.
The PHILIPS 234E5 is equipped with an advanced AH-IPS panel with improved structure that optimizes color reproduction, response time and power consumption. For photographers and unlike standard TN tiles, AH-IPS tiles are less prone to gamma fluctuations, making it possible to display consistent colors even at viewing angles as wide as 178 °. Because of its exceptional performance, this screen is particularly suitable for applications requiring color accuracy and regular brightness, such as editing software, graphics applications and web browsers.

The PHILPS 234E5 is a first-rate monitor offering a value-added image at the lowest cost. With a full HD definition, a diagonal of 23 inches, this monitor is probably the best placed in the market PPP ratio.
Its design is particularly successful with its thin edges at 9 mm. The VESA standard is one of the good arguments in favor of this product if you want to fix it on the wall. The manufacturer indicates consumption 28w on average, for my part, I raised 25w in normal use.
To conclude, the PHILPS 234E5 monitor is intended for users seeking the fine quality of the image with a tight budget of 150 € (average price). A purchase you will not regret!
